What are the eligibility criteria to participate in the contest?
You must be aged between 8 to 16 years old.

I am studying and resident in Cambodia but I am Singaporean.  Can I participate in the contest?
Yes, you can if you meet the eligibility criteria.  However, you will be considered as representing your school in Cambodia and numbered with the quota of candidates under Cambodia. 

How much will it cost to participate in the Local Contest?
There is a registration fee of SGD 50 per participant in the Local iSpeak Contest. 

Roughly, how much will it cost to participate in the Global Contest in Singapore?
There is a registration fee of SGD100 per participant in the Global iSpeak Contest.
A 3-day 2-night travel package (excluding airfare) will cost roughly SGD 405.

How are the prizes awarded in the event of a tie for first or second place?
The Chief Judge will make the decision. 

What are the payment modes to participate in the Local/Global iSpeak?
As part of the online registration for the Local iSpeak Contest, you will be directed to pay using Flywire which has no bank charges.

Can I register for the Local iSpeak via email?
No, we only accept online registrations from the contest website

I have changed my mind or I cannot make it for the contest after registering and making payment. Can I get a refund?

Once payment is made, there will be no refund.  

Can I participate in both the Speak Up and the Math Olympiad contests?
Yes, you can if you are living in Singapore or in one of the other listed countries. Please register for both contests separately at their own website.  

Can I pay for both the iSPEAK and the Math Olympiad contests on the same payment?

No, unfortunately this is not possible as the two contests have separate accounts.  
Can I participate even if I am not from a school already associated with SIMCC or International Scholastic Trust?
Yes, you can still participate as a private candidate so long as you meet the eligibility criteria. 

Does participation in this contest help me qualify for the International Junior Honor Society (IJHS)?
Absolutely but please note that you need at least two medals from separate iSPEAK events to be inducted into the IJHS.  

Can the Organiser provide funding or sponsorship for travel to Singapore to attend the Global iSpeak Contest?
The Organiser does not provide any sort of funding for the Global iSpeak Contest.  However, you can talk to your school or other external parties to consider funding your travel for the Contest. 

Who is the Organiser of the iSpeak Contest?
The iSpeak Contest is organized by:
 a) inlingua School of Languages, a language school located at 51 Cuppage Road #10-12, Singapore 229469.  inlingua School of Languages is part of a network of language schools with over 300 centres in over 30 countries; and
 b) Singapore International Math Contests Centre, supported by International Scholastic Trust Limited. Singapore International Math Contests Centre, located at 55 Lor 1, Telok Kurau, #03-69, Bright Centre,Singapore 425500, is a major organiser of STEAM competitions globally.  The International Scholastic Trust Limited, originally known as the Singapore Scholastic Trust, is the umbrella non-profit foundation that supports many contests for students such as the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge and the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad.
